The New York Times - Retro Modern

The New York Times Style Magazine just published a photo essay and article about designer Marc Newson and stylist Charlotte Stockdale's home in London.

The couple had been living in a house in Pimlico, but after the birth of their daughter they decided they needed more room for their growing family. The result is a style mash-up of Newson's sleek and streamline aesthetic with Stockdale's sensibility.

Please take a look at the photos and descriptions below. And as always, you can click any image for a larger version.

The rocks in the living room came from Nova Scotia, Newson searched the internet for months to source them

An Alighiero Boetti artwork hangs over Newson’s Voronoi shelves; the skull is by Dustin Yellin

The sink and work surface in the pale green kitchen were hewn from a single piece of marble

Something Old, Something new: The panels in the library come from a British architectural salvage company
